Novant Health Uptown Primary Care offers pediatric care for children and adolescents of all ages. Dr. Kate Long is board certified in family medicine and has extensive training and experience treating our younger patients. Lacey Kavanagh, our physician assistant, also has years of experience seeing children. Both providers offer comprehensive pediatric services so there is no need to travel to a separate pediatrician's office.
Regular checkups ensure your child's growth and development is monitored, and any developmental delays or health problems are identified and addressed quickly. Annual checkups for older children and more frequent visits for babies and toddlers are among the best tools for keeping your children healthy.
Regularly scheduled checkups include vaccinations to help prevent some of the most dangerous illnesses. Our office has all common childhood vaccines including TDaP, rubella, HPV and chicken pox.
When your child is sick, you can be seen quickly at Novant Health Uptown Primary Care. We reserve same-day and next-day appointments for sick patients, and take walk-in patients whenever possible. Click here to learn how to request an appointment. Also, if your child becomes sick after-hours, calling our office will connect you with a triage team which will advise you on immediate treatment or get you in touch with your child's provider if needed.
School, Sports and Camp Physicals
To participate in activities including school, sports and camp, your child might be required to have a physical exam. The exam determines whether your child can participate in the activity in question without endangering themselves or others.
Often, these physicals can be performed during your child's regular preventative visit. Please inform us ahead of time if you will need a school, sport or camp form completed. Please bring with you any form you have been given as we will not have access to that form in our office.
